Congratulations on your engagement! Now the real fun begins, where you get to plan and consider all the different options available for an outdoor wedding. Elite Yurts are the perfect structures to create a totally bespoke venue, unique to you and your wedding. All our Yurts are delivered and installed by our own Elite Team. Before you book a Yurt for your wedding there are just a few points you will need to consider.
The Location
Finding the perfect venue location can always be a tough decision, do you go for picturesque views or a small intimate setting? Wherever you decide to pitch Elite Yurts the area will need to be a grassed, flat levelled surface and well drained. Suppliers and guests will need to access the Yurts easily, so you will need to consider where the car park will be, and within walking distance to the Yurts. It might also be a good idea to add signs for guests to follow on the day.
Facilities
For any outdoor event you will need the following facilities. Elite Yurts can help recommend trusted suppliers or you can source your own if not included within the venue location.
- Toilets – portable toilet units designed for social events, which can be positioned within walking distance to the Yurts.
- Water – Caterers and Bar hire (if you have them) will most likely need access to fresh water. When choosing your venue location, you might want to ask about fresh water access. Although most caterers will provide their own if they are a mobile company such as catering vans.
- Electricity – Caterers, Bar Hire, Lighting, Heating, Entertainment will all need power. Usually a generator will be required if there is no electricity available at the venue. When hiring a generator, you will need to know how much power you will need, speak to the caterers and entertainment team for what will be required.
If choosing a remote location, you may want to consider nearby accommodation options. Or if permitted by the land owner why not enquire about camping, and create your own festival themed outdoor wedding.
The Yurts
You don’t need to know your guestlist upon booking Elite Yurts, but you do however need to have a rough indication on the number of guests, to allow you to book the right sized Yurts. Our 40’ Yurt can seat 140 people or 200 people standing, if opting for a combination yurt, our 24’ yurt can seat 50 people or 70 people standing and the 18’ yurt can seat 24 people or 37 people standing.
All Yurts will be delivered, installed and collected by our own Elite team. Installation is usually 2 – 3 days prior to the Wedding, giving plenty of time for decorating and styling the Yurts to your chosen theme or style. We would then return the day after the wedding to dismantle and take everything away.
Furniture and styling
Furniture packages can be provided by Elite with your Yurt booking, we have a range of contemporary and rustic furniture. However, we don’t offer room styling, but if you need help finding a supplier we are more than happy to recommend some of the best in the business. For couples on a bit of a budget why not make your own decorations? Making your day even more unique.
Catering and Bar
The beauty of hiring a Yurt for your wedding is deciding exactly how you want your day to run, and having flexibility on the catering you would like. Elite Yurts can help recommend mobile catering vans. When it comes to the drinks we offer a cash bar facility, where we are on site throughout your wedding. Serving guests a selection of draught beers, ciders, wines, sprits and soft drinks, from a fully licensed bar with trained bar staff. On the day
Worried about how the day will run? Elite Yurts can offer a wedding day coordination service, where we will oversee the running of the whole day, making sure everything is on time and people are where they need to be. Taking the stress away from you, to allow you to enjoy your special day.
The Legalities
For a ceremony to take place outdoors legally the venue must be licensed and approved for civil weddings and civil partnerships within the grounds. Therefore, you cannot legally be married within a temporary Yurt structure. You can however have a celebrant led ceremony to exchange vows and rings but this would not be legally binding. Most couples choose to be married then use the Yurts for their reception venue or exchange vows then legalise the wedding at a later date.
